SAD: Unknown Man Run Over By Train
IN a suspected case of suicide, an unknown man died on the railway line near Mbokodo Abattoir after he walked in front of an oncoming train.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and said investigations were in progress.
The victim is said to be between 30 and 36 years old.
“Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of sudden death where an unknown man was run over by a train on 12 June 2022. The incident occurred near Mbokodo Abattoir at around 2:30am,” said Insp Ncube.
It is said that the man was walking along the railway line and the engine man tried to warn him as he was approaching but he kept walking towards the train.
The train stopped after hitting him and police attended the scene.
Police are appealing to members of the public to visit any nearest police station if they have a missing relative who is around the mentioned age.
Insp Ncube urged members of the public to consider their safety before crossing the railway line and to consult their relatives or professional people if they have issues that they are facing so as to avoid the suicidal cases.
“We appeal to the members of the public not to cross the railway line before checking itthe engine man tried to warn him as he was approaching but he kept walking towards the train. This has been part of the many suicidal cases which we are experiencing in Bulawayo. We advise people to seek counselling from relatives or professionals rather than taking their own lives,” said Insp. Ncube.
