Let’s All Partake In The Tree Planting Initiative To Regain Our Garden City- Kumasi Mayor Urges

The President of Ghana, H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has launched the the 2022 Edition of Green Ghana Day, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The theme for this year’s exercise is “Mobilizing for a Greener Future” and it is scheduled for June 10, 2022.

The President in his keynote address said that, forests continue to be one of Ghana’s most important resource but regrettably there is a substantial decline of the country’s Forest cover.

The President therefore, called for concerted efforts to combat this menace.

As part of this exercise, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has enormously contributed massively in aiding the views of the government to help plant trees to reserve our forests.

Hon. Samuel Pyne Kumasi Mayor , has commence Otumfuor Osei Tutu ¡¡ and government as they ensure effective planning and execution of all planting in the urban areas.

We’re also glad to be part of this initiative , today we are planting 150 trees here in J.A Kuffour SHS to help restore the degraded landscape in the country , mitigate climate change and inculcate in the youth values of planting and nurturing of trees.

“You can see it’s raining but we’re doing our best to plant the trees to regain our greener nature again as it was.

“I’ll want to initiate one household two plant to help us regain our *Garden City* again as it was at first.

Head Master of the school Mr. Frimpong Boateng in his statement emphasized that, he have 802 plus students but he will make sure there will be one student one tree to help nurture the trees till it’s fully grown.
