GAAM Applauds CLOGSAG For Calling Off Strike
The Western North Region Assembly Members, President for the Ghana Association of Assembly Members (GAAM) who doubles as the assembly member for Asawinso A in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, Hon. Ackah Nelson Frank has commended the memberships of the Civil and Local Government Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) for calling off their strike action.
His appreciation follows numerous calls from government and other stakeholders, including the GAAM whilst CLOGSAG went on industry strike some days ago.
Mr. Ackah Nelson noted that the decision to call off the strike will boost activities in the various MMDAs.
“This is what we were calling for. Myself together with all other stakeholders are thankful to the CLOGSAG for paying attention to our calls. I want to take this opportunity to appeal to the government to back up and put necessary measures in place to ensure their demands are met,” he said.
In addition, he reiterated its quest to support the local government in all its activities.
“We will support the local government in all its activities to generate revenues for the development of the country, since the Ghana is all what we have.”
Ackah Nelson seized the opportunity to appeal to the local government minister and relevant stakeholders to support the various assembly members to get their fair share of the developmental projects.
“Some assembly members cannot even build a toilet facility in their hometowns because of inadequate resources. We have sent several requests to the government. However, we are pleading with the local government minister to pay attention to our calls and come to our aid,” he established.
