6 People Perished In Horrific Accident Involving Haulage Truck And Omnibus(PHOTOS)
Six people reportedly died in a horrific accident involving a haulage truck and a commuter omnibus earlier this morning in Bulawayo.
The accident occurred at the traffic light intersection at Nkulumane Shopping Complex around 5.30 am. The haulage truck was travelling from Nkulumane while the omnibus was heading to the Bulawayo central business district, coming from Pumula South.
Witnesses said the kombi was travelling at high speed and rammed onto the haulage truck.
They also added that despite the two vehicles smashing at the intersection, the accident was avoidable because the traffic light after Nkulumane Shopping Centre was working.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is yet to confirm the number of people killed in the accident, but unconfirmed reports say at least six people died. Many others were injured in the tragedy.

This April has been particularly bloody, as many lives were lost on the road.
Last week, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said about 73 people perished while 202 others were injured during the Easter and Independence holidays, and this is three times more than the people who died last year.
On 14 April 2022, 36 Zion Christian Church members travelling to Masvingo for an Easter gathering died after the bus they were travelling in lost control and veered off the road and plunged into a 200m deep gorge.
The accident happened 5km from Jopa turn off along the Chipinge-Chimanimani road.
On Sunday, a Mutare-based socialite, Obert Karombe, died in a freak accident along Beatrice Road.
