JUST IN- KNUST Student Murder: Suspect Remanded

Suspect, Emmanuel Boateng, 25, has been remanded into police custody.

At the Kuntenase District/Circuit Court this morning, April 25, 2022, the Prosecutor, also the Kuntenase District Police Commander, DSP Eric Akwaboah presented the fact of the matter to the Court.

Not waisting much time, the Judge who presided over the case, His Worship, Francis Apatsea, remanded Emmanuel into custody for two weeks.

He is to reappear in court on May 9, 2022.

A Level 200 student of KNUST, Nana Kwaku Adu Gyamfi, 22, was murdered by his friend, Emmanuel Boateng over 100 Cedis debt, according to the police current investigation.

The Suspect, Boateng Emmanuel refused to pay the debt, therefore, lured the 22-year-old Level 200 student into the bush at Sewua in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region and carried out the heinous act.

He hit Nana Kwaku Adu Gyamfi with a heavy beam on the neck, killing him instantly.

The body of the student had since been deposited at the morgue for autopsy and preservation.
