Forestry Commission Cautions Forest Invaders, Threaten To Deal With Culprits

The Ashanti regional manager for the Forestry Commission, Mr. Augustine Kofi Gyedu has angrily cautioned recalcitrant people who have invaded forest and other areas to cut down trees.
According to him, it was very worrying how some people have taken the law into their own hands to cut down trees illegally.
Mr. Gyedu signaled this word of caution after learning that some people had started cutting down trees indiscriminately.
He reiterated that even if you have those trees on your land, you don’t have the right to cut them down without the necessary approval.
“A very disturbing information reaching our outfit is that most people have taken the law into their own hands to cut down trees. And I want to send a word of caution to them that it’s against our laws.
Even if the tree is disturbing you on your land, you have to contact the forestry commission and we may know how to go by it. You don’t have any right to cut down trees indiscriminately”. He warned.
He has however signaled to deal with any recalcitrant who may be found culpable.
