Our Educational Sector Should Be More Of Practicals – MD Admonishes
On Tuesday April 5, 2022 the managing director of Hollard Insurance Ghana Mr Daniel Boi Add has indicated that, the educational programs in Ghana should be more of practical section than theory aspect to help the youth develop the spirit of self_ entrepreneurship.
Due to this, Hollard in collaboration with the UCC( University of Cape Coast ) have introduce Hollard X Academic which is a programme designed to help student bridge the gap between academic and the work field .
According to Mr. Boi the students in twenty years to come will be the ones running the country’s affairs and so anything that affect them as students today will affect Ghana’s future , avoiding this is the reason why they have partnership with the school to help build people’s (students) working skills.
” When we were in the Universities, we didn’t get the opportunity for people from industries coming to us . We read economic, accounting and others but couldn’t apply it in the sector field so we learnt a lot when we started working “. Mr Boi Add revealed.
Speaking in an interview with the media, the new vice chancellor of UCC Mr Johnson Nyarko Boampong stressed that, the school authorities were very much excited when the information got to their front desk and have made their possible best in making the partnership “a dream come through “.
Mr Nyarko concluded that, after the agreement was documented , the school administrations meet the students at UCC science auditorium to launch the “Design Thinking revolution HUB “. He added that, student graduates from school and becomes bearding on the society which is very bad hence they have taken it upon themselves as an authority to help students again skills before graduating to help acquire work after school .
