DISHEARTENING: School Under Trees In Ashanti Region, Pupils And Teachers Cry For Help(VIDEO,PHOTOS,AUDIO)
The Pupils and the staffs of Amponsa-Krom Basic School in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti Region are in tears as they learn under harsh and dangerous condition.
A visit to the school by filasconews.com Kwaku Gyamfi popularly known as Robee of Akomadan based Cruzz FM, saw the students together with their teachers under trees.
When asked for the rationale behind the move, a staff of the school who spoke to filasconews Robee on condition of anonymity said, they lack Infrastructure, hence, they resort to learning under the trees.
“We don’t have anywhere to study so here have been our classrooms”, he sadly revealed.
He said, numerous letters written to the Offinso North Assembly to get help have all yielded no results.
They are therefore appealing, through the media to draw Government’s attention.
The students on their part disclosed that, faeces of reptiles such as lizards and mammals like dogs also make the place untidy for learning.
They unearthed that, sometimes dangerous animals including snake fall from the trees on them.
The situation is disheartening that, when it rains, no school, and when vehicles or a lot of passerbys are passing, learning and teaching have to be halted for some minutes to avoid disturbances.
