Black Stars Midfielder Scores First Ever Goal In French League

Ghana midfielder, Salis Abdul Samed registered his debut goal for French Ligue 1 club, Clermont Foot in their home loss to Nantes on Sunday.

Samed, 22, had returned from a suspension and quickly gave an account of his good self despite the defeat in game day 30 at the Stade Gabriel Montpied.

Ludovic Plas netted the visitors’ opener from the penalty spot at the 43rd minute before Saif Eddine Khaoui drew level for Clermont on the 58th minute.

Pedro Chirivella made it 2-1 on the 62nd minutes for Nantes with Salis Samed swiftly grabbing the equalizer a minute later for the home side to peg the game at 2-2.

Randal Kolo Muani however rose to the occasion to slot home Nantes’ winning goal four minutes after Salis Samed had pulled Clermont’s equalizer.

Samed however had an afternoon to forget after being sent off following a second yellow. He was first booked on the 30th minute before a second on the 70th minute to reduced Clermont to 10 men.

Salis Samed has now played 26 games with a goal under his belt this season. The defeat leaves Clermont Foot in 18th with 28 points, just a point above relegation zone.
