SAD: Abandoned Pit Kills 30-Year Old Man In Ashanti Region

A 30 Year Old Man, only identified as Labista, has met his untimely demise in the Ashanti Region.
An abandoned pit collapsed on him at Yaapisa, a community within Asiwa, of the Bosome Freho District.
Eye witness, Mr. Isaac Antwi, narrating the sadden incident to filasconews.com said, the pit was a galamsey pit but has been abandoned without covering it.
Three friends, namely: Akwasi Keebi, 38, a 35-year-old Paa Kwasi and the deceased, Labista, 30, went to the site to mine illegally but unfortunately, the weak-abandoned and soaked pit collapsed on them, killing one instantly.
The remaining two, Paa Kwasi and Akwasi Keebi who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the Bekwai Government Hospital.
The deceased is also at the same facility’s morgue, for autopsy and preservation.
