NPP: Communications Officer Clashes With Election Committee Members Over Police Intimidation
THE SUNYANI EAST CONSTITUENCY ELECTIONS COMMITTEE FOR THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY IS NOW INTIMIDATING PROSPECTIVE ASPIRANTS WITH GHANA POLICE SERVICE
Mr Christian Gyabaa Yeboah who is the Secretary to the Sunyani East Constituency polling station and Electoral area Elections Committee upon the instructions of Mr. Ansu kumi who is also the chairman of the Committee and Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive officer has reported some five people including myself to Bono Regional police for allegedly engaging in falsification of application forms of the New Patriotic Party.
Among others they stated that some of us have printed more of the application forms and sold to some prospective aspirants. Others too submitted photocopies to the Committee instead of the original copies.
This unwarranted allegations in our opinion cannot be justified by the committee and is a lame and unsustainable allegation.
All persons who were arrested and invited by the Ghana police service were granted bail.
The committee and the police’s attention is drawn to the fact that there is an injunction on all processes including an order restraining the committee from continuing to manage, supervise and conduct the sunyani East Constituency polling station Elections by Sunyani High court and any illegal move to intimidate any person amount to bringing the orders of the Court into disrepute.
The committee’s machinations to tilt events to favour Hon kwasi Ameyaw-cheremeh MP for sunyani East will be strictly unaccountable and unacceptable.
Sunyani East Constituency of the New Patriotic Party will be salvaged this time round.
