RUSSIAN NUCLEAR ROCKET “SATAN 2” CAPABLE OF DESTROYING A WHOLE STATE
The Sarmat is one of the six new Russian strategic weapons unveiled by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 1 March 2018. The RS-28 Sarmat is expected to make its first test flight in 2022, and enter service later in the year.

On the website of the design bureau “Satan 2” is presented under the name “Experimental design work” Sarmat “. The state contract for the development of a new missile was signed in June 2011.

The missile will replace the RS-36M Satan, an intercontinental nuclear missile system developed in the 1970s at the Soviet Yuzhnoye Design Bureau. “Satan 2” is considered the most powerful nuclear weapon in the world: the yield of its warhead is 40 megatons, which is 2000 more than the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
