Just in: Police save kidnapper from the jaws of death
The timely intervention of the Bono Regional Police Command saved a suspected kidnapper from the jaws of death.
The suspect, Yaw George popularly known as Jaro, 25, was being lynched by the irate mob at Area 2, a suburb of Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region on Thursday, January 20, 2022, when the police intervened.
Suspect Yaw George kidnapped a year old baby boy at the said area but the vigilance of the innocent boy’s mother alerted the neighbours to chase the suspect.
Mrs. Akua Pokuah, mother of the victim speaking to a senior journalist with the Sunyani based Nimde3 FM, K Dee explained that, ” My baby boy sitting with me here this morning all of a sudden disappeared from my sight.
Luckily for me, a woman came to tell me that, she has seen my son on the shoulders of the suspect, running from the community”.

” I alarmed the boys around and they chased him. He confessed to have kidnapping the child, adding that, someone contracted him to get him the child and pay him ¢3,000, that led to his action”, Mr. Pokuah stressed.
He was then beaten mercilessly and was being lynched by the angry youths without the immediate intervention of the police.
The baby has reunited with his mother.
The suspect has been sent to the Sunyani Municipal Hospital under police guard.
