New year’s Eve hits with first strike: Anaesthetists completely withdraw their services

The New Year’s Eve has been hit with its first strike of the year.

The Certified Registered Anaesthetists (CRAs) have laid down their tools today, Saturday, 1st January, 2022.

Confirming their strike action to Filasco DeGeneral today, the PRO for the Ghana Association of Certified Registered Anaesthetists (GACRA), Mr. Seth Mark Andoh affirmed the action.

He said, the Association have completely withdrawn all anaesthesia services accross the country which started midnight today.

Mr. Andoh elaborated that, the Association’s letter to Ministry of Health (MoH) dated on December 4, 2021, to get their grievances resolved landed in dead ears.

The PRO during the interview opined that, members of the Association do not have license to practice hence, withdrawing their services across board to prevent unprofessionalism on their part.

It would be recalled that, the Certified Registered Anaesthetists are fighting for title change.
