Community clashes with Church for destroying their properties
Kuntanase Community in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region is on war path with Christ Charismatic Church (CCC) after the church destroyed hundreds of properties belonging to the residents without their consent.
The Assembly member of the area, Hon. Paul Owusu speaking on Silver FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show on Friday, December 24, 2021 lamented that, the church erred in their action adding people’s farms have been destroyed, building foundations and many others have all been graded off by the church.
He it took the intervention of the Kuntenase police to stop the operators of the excavator machines to stop discontinue the activity.
To Hon. Paul, the hundreds of acres of lands belong to the Kuntenase Chief but the church claims they bought it from the Chief of Abrankesse in the same district which to him is unfounded.
He said, he is the personal secretary for the chief of Kuntenase and has no knowledge that the CCC has bought that land.
The matter has therefore been reported the Chief of Kuntenase and the police.
Meanwhile the affected farmers have vowed to charge the church to refund all their lost properties on the land in cash form to them
