Farming should be a priority to all- Football Association President
The Mmerantehene of Debibi Traditional area who doubles as the Tain Football Association President and a farmer in Tain District, Nana Alexander Ababio has contributed his view on his experience as a farmer for 13 years now when he was in secondary school.
According to him, farming as an occupation since time in memorial service has changed from the manual way to an organic farming (digitally), with the use of chemicals, and so the farming participants should also add up the new methods of farming.
“Since the farming method has changed, I urge the youth to get involved to generate the progress of farming activities for income. I am looking forward for the government’s inputs on assisting the farmers with farming equipments to make farming activities attractive and interest to the youth”, he pleaded.
In addition, he added that, the agric officers always stay in their offices giving directions but should rather take a step to roam around the farmers to assure them of the betterment of the farming activities.
“The agric officers should in a matter of regular activity should visit farmers with more encouragement and education to help boost farmer’s input.
“Agriculture is adding up more income as I am benefiting now, its about 13 years now I’ve being into farming and making money now, whatever job you have, you add farming to it and you’ll see a difference progress between farming and the other occupations. Today, I’m going for my award in Techiman as a best farmer, and I’m much pleased to be a farmer”, he expressed.
