We’re poised to making Ashanti Region dirt-free- Kumasi Compost and Recycling Plant Manager

The Business Development and Communications Manager at Kumasi Compost and Recycling Plant at Esereso-Adagya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Eugene Amo Asamoah has stated that, the center’s aim is to make the region tidy.

According to Mr. Amo, Recycling Plant is a waste management machine that collects and recycles waste materials such as garbages and turn them into useful products.

He disclosed that their facility is the biggest Compost and Recycling Plant in West African.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, Mr. Eugene Asamoah entreated the general public to realise the importance of refuse to their center and bring it to them for recycling.

He mentioned materials such as organic fertilisers or compost for farmers, raw materials for paper and plastic manufacturers and many more as some of the semi end products made from waste materials at their center.

He called on the residents within the region to dispose off their waste responsibly to avoid preventable ailments such as cholera, waterborne and airborne diseases.

“We’re approaching Christmas and I’m urging the citizenry to keep the region clean by disposing off their thrash responsibly. Bring them to us to recycle them for useful products and keep the cities clean”, Mr. Eugene Amo Asamoah stressed.

Touching on their Basic and Corporate responsibilities especially to the people of Adagya, he said the company has constructed a 7.5km road in the community, fixing of street lights on the roads, employing over 150 natives from Adagya and many more adding that they are not relenting on their efforts to helping the people of Adagya and other environs within the catchment area.

Mr. Amo admonished to government and the authorities in various sectors to sanction sanitation offenders in order to serve as deterrent to others.

He said people intentionally dirty the environment with their household garbages saying such people if apprehended should not be spared but must face the full rigors of the law to refrain others from repetition.

Adding his taught on the recently introduced e-levy and other taxes by the government which was announced by the finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta on Wednesday, November 17,2021, he said every developed country thrive on tax thus is in line for the government of Ghana to introduce tax.

But he was quick to add that the government after collecting the tax from the citizens, should put it into a good use in order to benifit the people.

Finally, he called on all Ghanaians to be good and responsible citizens to help develop our motherland….Ghana.
