We’re not interested in transport fare increment- PROTOA Chairman

Mr. Joseph Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) has stated that, their outfit is not interested in transport fare increment.

According to Chairman Mensah, the organization shares passengers plight that, things are hard in the country and therefore PROTOA wants the government to decrease fuel prices at the pump to relief some burdens from transport operators in the country.

He said, their agitations have nothing to do with passengers nor citizens but with the government and the industry players to as a matter of urgency reduce petroleum products.

Speaking on Omanbapa Morning Show on Silver FM in Kumasi, Mr. Mensah passionately appealed to Transport and Energy Ministers to listen to their grievances and cut down cost of petroleum products.

He elaborated that, the Organisation would only be compelled to increase transport fares only if Government fails to address their concerns.

Mr. Joseph Mensah in addition advices drivers to drive with extra care as we enter into Christmas Eve to avoid accidents and save lives.
