Breaking news: Emmanuel, 22, shot dead by security man at Ntomem

A 22 year old Arthur Emmanuel popularly known as Amaro or Koo Emma has been shot to death by a Chinese security man at Ntomem, a farming community within the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.

The unfortunate incident happened on Sunday, November 28, 2021 in the said community.

Given explanation to Filasco DeGeneral rightly after the occurrence, Kwame Joe a.k.a Odwoo who was with the deceased when the incident happened said, he, together with the late Emmanuel went to an illegal mining site mined by Chinese citizens with Ghanaian security guards.

In the course of the work, scuffle ensued between them and the security men on duty.

He continued that, one of the security men gave a warning shot to disperse them from the area and at their blind side, the other security man targeted the deceased occiput and shot him.

He was rushed to the Mangoase Government Hospital in the Obuasi Municipality but died shortly after arrival.

Three suspects according to my checks have been nabbed by the Jacobu Police to initiate investigation into the matter whiles the remains of the late Arthur Emmanuel has been deposited at the Mangoase Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation.

However, the committee chairman of the Ntomen locality, Mr. Enoch Manu a.k.a Kwame Yesu told Filasco that, the Chinese Nationals and some of their local workers have taken to their heels after the incident adding that some of their machines including excavators have been burnt.

Yesu said the elders of Ntomem are collaborating with the police to arrest all the individuals involve in the matter that led to the untimely demise of the 22 year old man in the bush.
