Engage Telcos to decentralize Ghana card, SIM cards re-registration to ease challenges- Hon Kennedy to Gov’t


The renowned Director of Operations of the New Patriotic Party Youth Organization (NPPYO) and Former DCE Aspirant for Suaman District of Western North Region, Hon. Kennedy Annor Ngyissah Koah has urged the government via the Communication Minister headed by Hon. Ursula Owusu to engage the Telecommunication companies (TELCOS) to decentralize the Sim cards re-registration process in order to overcome challenges at the various centres.

According to him, registrants are complaining about the challenges they are facing at the various centers that need urgent attention.There are regular chaos at almost all the centres.

The Former DCE Aspirant applauded the government for the policy implementation saying it will curb money laundering, mobile money fraud, sim box business, impersonation etc. in the system.

He added that, the exercise will help government to expunge ghost names in our payroll adding that such monies could be used for developmental projects in the country.

“The citizens have done nothing wrong to deserve these inhuman treatment from the TELCOS in various centers”, He stressed.

Finally he said, the implementation of the policy recommendable but advised government to handle it well else it will create a lot of backlashes which will affect the government.
