Dual carriage not solution to road accidents- Road Expert
Mr. Thomas Bismark Boakye, Road Expert has stated that, dualisation of Ghana roads will not be the panacea to road carnages.
According to the road expert, officers tasked to maintain safety on the road should not sit in their offices and instruct but must go to the ground to find out real situations on the field.
He said road safety authority officers must always be on ground.
He added that, the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service should make sure road offenders are being dealt with, with the law and maintain discipline on the road.
Drivers and riders must be enforced to comply with the rules and regulations on the road adding that commuters/passerby are not excluded.
Pedestrians should know where and when to cross highways especially the jaywalkers. According Mr. Bismark, this will help reduce road accidents.
In addition, he said passengers should also know that they have a role to play in ensuring discipline or safety on our roads.
The Expert called on all and sundry to be crusaders of road safety in order to come over the menace. “If we follow this tips, road accidents will reduce drastically”, he told filasconews on, November 12,2021.
