A Forty (40) year old man, Kwaku Yiri who hails from Agona Krakrom in the Sekyere South District of the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency in the Ashanti Region has died by drowning.
Narrating the cause of his untimely demise to filasconews today, Thursday, November 11,2021, the Zonal NADMO Director for Krakrom, Mr. Maxwell Sefah Bonsu said, the late Yiri trying to express his unflinching love to his dear wife, was escorting her to travel to her relative outside their village.
On his way back to the house, there was a wood bridge on the Offin River that he’ll have to pass before getting to his destination but unfortunately, the weak wooden-bridge turned upside down, releasing him into the river.
A passerby saw him struggling to get out from the river but he couldn’t help so he ran to the community for help but the time they arrived, “he was nowhere to be found in the river. The River has taken him to the deep”, the NADMO director disclosed.
The youth tried their best to find him but it couldn’t yield fruit until the traditional leaders came and poured libation.
“The body was washed ashore after the leaders finished their libation”, Mr. Sefah added.
The body has since been conveyed to the Pope John (ii) hospital at Agona for preservation and autopsy.
