Focus on your Education and shun drugs- Youths told
Focus on your Education or something that will enlighten your future as a youth and avoid drugs, Head Pastor of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana (EPC) in Sunyani of the Bono region has said.
According to Rev. Mat-Joe Boateng, stimulant drugs such as weed, tramadol, Codeine, cocaine, sniffing of snuff etc. and alcohol have been the major cause youths destruction in several countries especially on the African Continent.
Rev. Joe has therefore admonished education to the youth as a source to a better future and urged them to abstain from the aforementioned social vices.
He said these acts many a times lead most of the youths into the criminal and fornication world which end them up in jail and other unfortunate places, sometimes death.
Rev. Joe added many of the in the country have involved themselves into immoral acts and the short-cut way of making money (quick money) saying these short-cut paths definitely lead them to the satanic kingdom and affect their lives hence calling on them to take their education serious.
“Sakawa, drug abuse etc. etc. will take you nowhere”, Rev. Mat-Joe elaborated.
He made this known to the press when Sylvester Eliken Aziblame, a Level 300 student of Minerals Engineering at Mines and Technology University at Tarkwa who doubles as the winner of the UMB 8th edition of Ghana’s Best Tertiary student in academics held on October 22, 2021, in Accra presented the award to him at his church in the presence of the congregation on Sunday, November 7, 2021.
The Award winner, Sylvester Eliken Aziblame use the occasion to appreciate the EPC members, the head Pastor, Queenmother of Tongor- Tsanakpe, Mamaga Tormelo, Youth Chief, Togbui Mongor in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region and his father, Smart Aziblame for their support.
He finally called on parents to as a matter of urgency provide their wards educational needs to aid them achieve their goals in order to have a better future.
