Digitalization is the best way to go as a nation- NPP’s Comm Officer
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Officer for Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region has stated that, digitazation and digitalization is the best way to go as a nation if we want to develop.
The economics of digitization is the field of economics that studies how digitization, digitalisation and digital transformation affects markets and how digital data can be used to study economics.
The economics of digitization exists as a distinct field of economics for two reasons. First, new economic models are needed because many traditional assumptions about information no longer hold in a digitized world.
Second, the new types of data generated by digitization require new methods for their analysis.
An underlying theme in much of the work in the field is that existing government regulation of copyright, security, and antitrust is inappropriate in the modern world. For example, information goods, such as news articles and movies, now have zero marginal costs of production and sharing. This has made the redistribution without permission common and has increased competition between providers of information goods.
On a Kumasi based Silver FM’s morning show dubbed Omanbapa, the Communications Officer, Mr. Sulemana Sirikye delved into the topic: Digitazation and Digitalization, the way to go as a country?
Sulemana said digitization and digitalization indeed is the best way to go as the country because the world keeps evolving digitally adding that for any developing nation to be developed in these modern day, you need to digitised your economy to catch ups with the world’s direction of development.
He elaborated that, if successful with these digitization and digitalization agenda by the NPP Government led by Nana-Bawumia, administration, one will not need to carry along huge sum of money to purchase something.
Mr. Sirikye disclosed that the traditional way of doing things and assumptions about information no longer hold in this modern era hence the need to go digital.
He said all the developed countries accross the world relied on digitalization and digitazation therefore Ghana must follow revealing also that economics of digitazation touches on several fields including industrial organization, labor economics and intellectual property which will aid government to creating more jobs to benefit citizens.
“Thus, is a plus for the country’s economy to be digitised”, he said on the show monitored by filasconews.
The necessity of the discussion came about after the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia during his public lecture at the Ashesi University-Accra touted government’s unflinching efforts to go digital.
