Include private schools in educational policies – Mr. Nsowah to Government
Headmaster of the Say Adsam educational complex in Kotwi in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region Mr. Emmanuel Nsowah have reiterated the call for the extension of various educational interventions by the government to private schools to improve the quality of education in the country.
Mr Nsowah made the appeal in an interview with Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame during the Ninth Graduation Cerem of the school at Kotwi on Thursday, December 22, 2022.
He said private basic schools especially should be made to benefit from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Capitation Grant, School Feeding Programme and Free senior high school to help improve teaching and learning in the schools.
He added parents of pupils in private schools pay taxes and also contribute to the development of the nation and there should therefore not be discrimination in the sharing of the state resources.
In total, there were 294 graduants, of which 77 were JHS 3 students, 52 kg2 pupils, 93 class 3 pupils and 72 class six people.
Mrs Doris Ofori, Atwima Kwanwoma District education director commended the teachers of the school for their hard work, which had helped improved the performance of pupils, and called on the parents to support the teachers at all times.
She added that, the Ghana Education Service (GES) was committed to the successful implementation of the new education reforms.
He called for the renewal of commitment of all stakeholders to improve performance in schools and commended the founder of the school for his foresight and urged parents to assist improve the infrastructure of the school.
Mrs Ofori stressed that, it was the responsibility of parents to bring their children up in a manner that would help them grow to become responsible citizens.
The school also has in custody of young talented comedian girl Akete Mpenisem who lead the school chorography during the anniversary.
