The assembly members in the Juaben Municipal assembly on Monday, November 1, rejected President’s nominee for MCE position.
Mr. Alex Sarfo Kantanka only pulled out 10 out of 26 votes casted during the voting.The President would have to nominate another person for the position.
He begged for leniency and forgiveness but still, the assembly members turned him down.
Confirming the allegations of bribery in the election on Silver FM’s morning show, a Kumasi based radio station, an assembly member who was seen been attacked by the failed MCE nominee in the viral video, Hon. Simon Adjei, assembly member for the Juaben Esaase stated that, yes! indeed the nominee distributed envelops to some of them but not for his confirmation package but TnT.
He said Mr. Alex Sarfo Kantanka a.k.a Chairman Aluta gave the money to them as transportation to the center and not for his endorsement.
Asked by the host of the program, Nana Ampratwum, whether he is ready to refund the money to nominee, he said, “my brother, let me tell you something, politics is a gamble, lose or win and therefore if you give me money as TnT as you lose at the end of the election, braa “Wo sika no ahye”…..
