The police have said in their release that, the Mankessim murder suspect, Nana Clark is alive and is in police custody.

The police say the Mankessim Chief together with his accomplice, Pastor Michael Andoh are all alive and are in police custody.

The police have therefore entreated the general public to disregard the earlier report that, the Mankessim Chief and the Tufuhene of Akwakrom in Effutu has died in police custody.

Earlier death report of Nana Clark

Sources close to Onuaonline has confirmed that Tufuhene of Akwakrom in Ekumfi, Nana Clark, who has been accused of killing the 25-year-old prospective nursing student, Georgina Aso Botchwey, has died in police custody.

According to our sources, Nana Clark allegedly took in some poisonous substance when he realised his arrest was imminent.

He gave up the ghost Saturday afternoon according to reports.

Nana Clark was the Tufuhene of Akwakrom in Ekumfi and President of the Mankessim Traders Association

Nana was standing trial for the murder and burying of Georgina in a residential apartment and had been charged in court with his accomplice.

Pastor Michael Darko, the man who allegedly sold the young lady to the Tufuhene of Akwakrom in Ekumfi, Nana Clark was slapped together with the chief with conspiracy to commit a crime, to wit murder and murder contrary to section 46 of the Criminal and Offences Acts 1980, Act 29 and put before the Cape Coast District Magistrate Court presided over by her worship Bernice Mensima Ackon.

Background

An uncle of the deceased, Joseph Dade, had told Onua New’s Kwame Asante his niece was picked up from the interview scene at Ankaful by Pastor Darko on September 9, 2022 where she had gone for a nursing admission interview.

The uncle added the two had called and demanded a ransom from the family to make a search for the young lady when an announcement of her missing came to the public.

Nana Clark, was the Tufohene of Ekumfi Akwakrom and also President for the Mankessim Traders Association

But, the police has debunked the statement saying the Chief is alive.
