Philanthropist supports over 700 needy Persons

Over 700 poor and destitute in Ashanti and Bono East regions have received philanthropic support to ease financial difficulties and better living conditions

A Non-governmental Organization, “Kumasi Food Foundation” in a series of humanitarian activities laid out a donation of clothing, learning materials, wheel chairs, bicycles and cash worth of about Gh¢12,500.00 to the needy, orphans and persons with disabilities

Communities that benefited from the gesture includes Maaben in the Tepa Municipality, Nkenkanso in the Offinso North District of Ashanti Region and Nkoranza in the Bono East region

The organization further extended massive support to selected individuals with start-up capitals for business and entrepreneurship in the areas of fashion designing, footwear manufacturing, beautification, trading, amongst others to earn a decent living.

The Foundation over the past few years have financially assisted thousands of less privileged mostly in villages and parts of Kumasi within the Ashanti Region to afford them some financial relief

Speaking to journalists after the donation exercise, CEO of “Kumasi Food Foundation”, Kwadwo Boakye indicated his outfit’s commitment to render more support after having discovered several others in a distress within the localities

The CEO therefore appealed to government of Ghana to always assist private entities like his outfit and others by reducing the cost of shipment fees to bolster their efforts in carrying out humanitarian services.

He also urged individual citizens who have been honored with the privilege of managing people’s investment to do so with all honesty, transparency and responsible accountability

The vision according to Mr Boakye is to help reduce if not eradicate abject poverty in the country

“We have been running this foundation for 8 years now and always in Kumasi but this time around, a friend Nana Tabri sent us to his home town Nsuta near Tepa where we supported over 500 needy people with relieve items. we proceeded to Nkoranza and Nkenkanso respectively and donated items including ladies and children clothing, wheel chairs, learning materials for school kids and cash of GH¢ 2,000”, The Atalanta based Ghanaian disclosed.

“We have identified many persons with disabilities and others struggling to gain an ends meet during our interaction with the communities and we are determined to be back with more support to help them. We are however appealing to government to help reduce the cost in port duties for benevolent organizations like us to be able to expand our charitable works to cover more needy”, Kwadwo Boakye stated

To keep the Godly mission alive and enhanced, Kwadwo Boakye and his Foundation is constructing a storage facility to store donated items for onward distribution which is about 90% complete at Ohwim in Kumasi.
