Chief cries over insecurity in his community… appeals to IGP for help

Rampaging Islamic SHS students attack Asanteman SHS, pupils run for their lives

Nana Okyere, the Adehyiehene of Asante Akyem Praso in the Asante Akyem South Municipality of the Ashanti region, is lamenting over high rate of crime in his community.

The Chief is therefore appealing to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Akuffo Dampare to as a matter of urgency beef up security in their community to combat crimes.

The Chief’s call comes at the back of two infants who escaped death after they fell as victims to unscrupulous person(s).

It will be recalled that two infants, a 3 and a 4 year old boy and a girl escaped death while a portion of the 3 year old’s penis was cut off and the left sided breast of the 4 year old was bitten by the suspect (s).

Condemning such incident as barbaric and unlawful, the Chief called on the IGP to beef up the police personnels in the area for them.

Speaking with angel news Oheneba Siaw, He said, the police station is situated at Kwahu Praso in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region and overseers the enclave that within two municipalities. He further said, the police personnels have stayed with them for long and they are known in the enclave which is not helping crime check in the enclave.

On his part, Sanaahene of Asante Akyem Praso Nana Ababio bemoans the incident and recount how a boy was killed few weeks ago in the area which the perpetrator has not been brought to book yet. He further argues that in order to safe their town from bad naming, they will be embarking on a search in various homes to fish out outsider and question their inhabitants in their town, this according to him will help ascertain such incidence in the enclave.

He was quick to advise the parents to be watchful of their wards activities at home and outside their homes and always do not allow them to move lonely but protect them always especially when going to school and returning back from school.
