Assin Akropong Youth Association Rubbishes Fraud Allegations By Constituency Chairman

The leadership of a vibrant socio-developmental group at Assin Akropong in the Assin Central Constituency of the Central Region called Assin Akropong Youth Association, has dismissed claims by Mr. Attakora Amaniampong the Assin Central Constituency NPP Chairman who is allegedly to be the campaign manager for one of the Npp parliamentary Aspirants (Obed Kumi Awuah) that, the project coordinator for Assin Akropong Youth Association Mr Frank Asante has initiated a fraudulent agenda to extort money from the market women in Assin Akropong in the name of commissioning an abandoned market center in the aforementioned town.
Mr. Attakora in an interview on Assin Fosu based radio station Nap fm, boldly said, Mr Frank Asante is a fraudster and a corrupt being who has managed to influenced the market women in Assin Akropong to pay an amount of ¢200.00 each to be used to commission the market built by Hon.
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) in the town, and so therefore called on anyone who has paid any amount to go for his or her money.
According to Mr Attakora, the Association has no power/right to carry out such activity because the market was built by Hon. Ken.
But the association in a statement debunked the allegations.
According to the statement, the Association was only trying to help the petty traders in the town to have a place to undertake their business and since the said place has been abandoned for so many years and some parts needed to be renovated.
The Association has taken upon itself to offer free cements and sum amount of money to foster that exercise but never asked any beneficiary to pay any amount.
It said, the Association did not charge anyone to pay such an amount nor has taken anything from anyone as alleged by the chairman.
It therefore called on Mr Attakora Amaniampong, the Assin Central Constituency NPP Chairman to come out with an immediate effect to retract or else _the battle line will be drawn between the Association and him (Mr Attakora) and his alleged favorite Candidate Obed.
