MTN launches 2022 edition of MoMo Month
The MTN Ghana,has today launched the 2022 edition of the Momo month under the theme “Celebration of 13 years of MTN momo”.
Launched in 2012, the month long celebration has for the past years been instrumental in driving awareness, influencing policy decisions and deepening the adoption and acceptance of e-money nationwide.
Demonstrated to the Ashh FM reporter, Nana Kwame Boahen after the launched, The chief executive officer (CEO) of MTN Ghana of the northern sector, Nii Adotey Mingle stated that despite the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana,it helped in accelerating the drive for financial intrusion and offered opportunities to undertake activities beyond boundaries of our traditional commercial states.
He added that the COVID-19 pandemic made Momo more relevant and also easier preventing the movement of people to specific locations to undertake transactions and it has also impacted the lives of millions of Ghanaians both home and abroad,created job opportunities for millions as well.
He appreciated the industry players who facilitated the launch of one of the revolutionary products introduced into the African market (regulators, partner banks,agents, merchants) across the length and bredth of the country.
Detective Daniel Ofori,a Cyber crime officer from the Ghana police who spoke on behalf of ACP Nana Kwaku Duah also the general public especially the momo agents to be vigilant and wary of their security and also be assured that the police are always there for them.
