Decomposed body of a man found in River at Ekumfi Akotsi

The decomposed body of a 56-year-old man has been found in a river under a bridge at Ekumfi Akotsi in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.

Report gathered AfricaNewsArenaGh’s Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah revealed that, the man, Ekow Quainoo popularly known to the people of the Ekumfi Akotsi as Osor has been missing for sometime now.

Report say, after his disappearance for sometimes now, residents conducted a search on him but he was nowhere to be found.

Report says, somebody was going to the river side to cut bamboo when he saw the lifeless body of the deceased floating on the river which is under a bridge on Thursday October 13,2022 in the morning.

Speaking in an interview with some of the residents in the Ekumfi Akotsi community said, they thought he has gone to his hometown Yamoransa so they stopped searching for him untill he was found dead floating in a water.

Some residents said, they can’t tell what may caused him dead in the river.

According to them, the deceased was a very kind and friendly to everyone in the community including children so his demise has shocked them.

Some of the Units Committee Members in the area also added that, they are shocked to hear this sad news as the deceased was not having any issue with anybody in the community.

According to them, they can’t tell whether he was killed and dumped in the river or it’s his natural death.

They said, he usually used to go to the river side and bath always.

Reaching the Assembly Member of Ekumfi Akotsi Electoral Area Hon. Nuredeen Otoo also said, he had a distress call about the incident so he quickly reported the issue to the Esiohyia Police and came and retrieved the body.

He then advised the general public to always tell their relatives their whereabouts and also inform their relatives when going to any place.

The family of the deceased is yet to be informed.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary for Preservation.

No arrest has been made but an investigation is still ongoing.

He left behind a wife and two children.
