Free SHS: Nana tell Ghanaians the truth- Prophet Owusu Bempah warns
Prophet Owusu Bempah of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International has openly criticized the portrayal of the Free Senior High School (SHS) program as entirely “free.” Speaking to his congregation, he urged the government to be transparent about the program’s funding, stating that it is misleading to present it as a gift from the administration.
He explained that the Free SHS initiative is financed by taxpayers’ money, not directly funded by the government. “The program is not as free as it is being claimed. It is taxpayers’ money that funds it, and Ghanaians deserve to know the truth,” he said.
The prophet called on the government to stop using the term “free” in a way that suggests the funds come from its own resources. “Tell Ghanaians the truth—Free SHS is being paid for by their taxes,” he emphasized.
His remarks have sparked discussions about transparency in public programs and the responsibility of leaders to clarify how national initiatives are financed. Prophet Owusu Bempah’s critique adds to ongoing debates about the actual cost of such policies and their impact on citizens.
