The Afigya Kwabre North district in the Ashanti Region is in a state of shock and disbelief following the tragic death of 37-year-old taxi driver Amos Adusei.

He was fatally shot by suspected armed robbers on the Kwaman-Boaman road, a shocking event that has left the community reeling.

The incident occurred late Saturday night, marking a grim escalation in the area’s history of robbery incidents. According to local accounts, while the community has experienced previous robberies, this is the first known instance resulting in a fatality.

Isaac Adusei, the Assembly member for the Ahenkro electoral area and the deceased’s brother, confirmed the devastating event to Citi News. He recounted the initial confusion upon receiving a call reporting his brother’s involvement in an accident, only to discover upon arrival that Amos Adusei had been attacked and shot by the assailants.

“The police came to our house and conducted their investigation,” Isaac Adusei explained. “They visited the mortuary where the body was deposited and informed us that a postmortem examination would be conducted today around 10 am. Following this procedure, the body will be released to the family.”

As law enforcement authorities continue their investigations, the community is left to reflect on the tragic loss of Amos Adusei. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the heightened insecurity and the urgent need to address criminal activities in the region.
