This research adds to a growing body of evidence that suggests consuming processed meats, like sausage, increases your risk of cancer.

Another major concern with sausage is that it is often made with mechanically separated meat (MSM). MSM is a processed meat product made from the remains of animal bones and tissues that are ground up and blended into meat products, like sausage. According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), consuming MSM has been linked to an increased risk of several health problems, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.

It is also a major contributor to obesity, which is a growing problem in many countries. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 70% of adults in the United States are considered overweight or obese, and this trend is not limited to the US. Obesity is a major risk factor for a variety of health problems, including heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Consuming a diet high in processed foods, like sausage, can contribute to weight gain and increase your risk of these health problems.

Finally, it is important to note that sausage is often made with animal by- products, like brains and spinal cord, which can carry harmful pathogens, like mad cow disease. According to the USDA, consuming products made with animal by- products increases your risk of exposure to these harmful pathogens, which can have serious health consequences.
