Nadowli: SHS student neglects school to marry
A Senior High School girl (name withheld) of Queen of Peace senior high in Nadowli has put her Education on hold to go into marriage.
The second Year student who is 20 years of age, hails from Zaguo-Deriyiri in the Jirapa municipal of the upper west region.
An interaction with her father revealed that, when school reopened in January for the 2023 academic year, the girl was to go to school on one Sunday which she reluctantly ignored.
Her father opted to send her on motorbike himself to the school the next day, Monday.
Upon seeing the enthusiasm in her father’s Premeditation to send her to school, she sneaked out of the house without anybody’s notice.
Several searches were mounted on her whereabouts but were not fruitful.
It was later discovered that she is with her boyfriend who hails from Gbare but residing in Mampong – Buoben in Ashanti region. All efforts made for her to come and continue her education prove futile.
The case was then reported to the girl-child education officer as well as the school authorities pending solutions.
