Selection of Church Head: Stop intimidating us with security personnel – AFTC to Atiwa East DCE
The members of African Faith Terbenacle Church also known as (Odifo Nkansah Asore) are accusing the District Chief Executive(DCE) for Atiwa East District in the Eastern Region, Hon Kwabena Panin Nkansah, who is the chairman of Atiwa East District DISEC for using security personnel to intimidate the church members any time they want to have a program at Anyinam, their National headquarters.
According to the church members, after the death of the leader of the Church, late Superior Prophet David Nkansah II, about a year ago, the family of the late leader are litigating with the Church and its leaders over the selection of the next leader.
Meanwhile, the abusuapanin of our late Prophet’s family, Opanin Ampadu and the DCE, Hon Kwabena Panin Nkansah, who is a relative of the late leader, always uses policemen, and other security officers to intimidate the church members in their own headquarters premises.
Revealing to the press by the National Public Relations Officer of the Church, Chief Pastor Jacob Kwesi Rockson, after they were denied the opportunity to hold their first National General Meeting at their own headquarters premises.
He added that the members of the Church are peace loving people, so they will continue to remain calm, but when pushed, force will be applied.
He, therefore, appeals to the IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare , the interior minister, Ambrose Derry, and other authorities, to intervene to avert any unfortunate incident.
In addition, the National Youth President of the Church, Chief Pastor Ebenezer NkansahTwum Barima also added that, the leadership of the Church has chosen a leader in person of Chief Pastor Stephen Frimpong Nkansah, which must be respected. He added that the family has no right to choose a leader for the church since it is not inheritance.
The indigenous spiritual church, which was founded in the year 1919 and is more than 100 years old, can not be headed by a person who is not even a member of the Church.
Meanwhile, the Anyinam District Police Comander DSP Raymond Mahama Iddrisu refused the allegation and said, the police and DISEC wanted peace in the area that why they denied the Church members to hold their meeting in that premises.
