VVU moves to produce more business minded graduates, introduces Agric Science courses

Professor Peter Agyekum Boateng, Pro-Vice Chancellor and acting Vice Chancellor of the Valley View University (VVU) has revealed that the Institution is shifting from producing ordinary academic graduates who look up to Government or Private sector for employment to producing students who will be business/entrepreneurship minded after school.

He says it is in this direction that VVU has introduced Agric Science courses in addition to it’s numerous business/enterpreneurial programs which he encourages students to patronize in order to help solve the raging problem of unemployment confronting our nation Ghana.

Professor Agyekum Boateng disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent Nana Kwadwo Adu during the 27th Congregation ceremony for 845 graduates at the VVU – Techiman campus in the Bono East region under the theme; “Confronting a Global pandemic: a call to excellence, integrity and service.

For his part, Professor E. B. Amponsah Rector of VVU – Techiman campus called for a National debate on Ghana’s education as our current system has failed and needs a complete overhaul.

Mr. Paul Akurugu of Techiman, the overall best student out of the total 1,748 graduates across all three VVU campuses in Ghana namely Oyibi, Kumasi and Techiman, pledged their batch will be elements of chance in wherever they may find themselves in contributing their quota to the country’s development.
