One of the most touted radio presenters, I mean, amongst the finest news anchors in Ghana has Shockingly disclosed that, commercial sex workers have really helped reduced the menace of rape and defilement in the country, Ghana.

Prostitution Popularly known as ‘Ashawo’ is illegal in Ghana but the trade is surging almost all corners in the country and hardly has anybody been jailed Ghana for engaging in prostitution.

Some get arrested by the police but are just left off the hook with some allegations that, the security officers themselves and take advantage satisfy their libidos with them as a barter.

The trade is booming in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region’s capital as we have a whole community containing them at Adum called: Adum-Nsuase.

The Chief of of these Ashawo workers, Nana Cudjoe had earlier on pleaded with men to patronise their services in this festive season as there would be no price increment due to Covid’s effect.

Discussing the growing menace of the activity in the region on a Kumasi based radio station, Silver FM’s morning show hosted by Nana Ampratwum, Kwabena Wireko affectionately called Unofficial Lawyer argued that, the ladies engaging in the Ashawo business must be recommended by the general public saying their services have really saved the nation’s bad name in terms of rape.

According to him, in the days where there were no such ladies boldly in town, rape and defilement grew in the Ghanaian societies.

He said, villain men who were found of defiling young girls and raping women have all resulted into Ashawo.

Mr. Wireko asserted that, the booming sex trade business in Ghana currently is the saviour of rape and defilement issues adding that, it is the reason why we are not hearing much cases of rapes.

“I really love their work and I would encourage leaders to take good care of them and stop harrasing them.

I’m 100% optimistic that, if my wife travel and she hear that, his husband, Kwabena Wireko(KW) has slept with Ashawo lady instead of raping or defiling someone, she would be happy for me”, he told the host of show on Monday, December 20, 2021.
