Road Constructions: Government must be transparent to Ghanaians – Former Deputy Road Minister
The member of Parliament for Wassa East and a former Minister for Roads and Highways Hon. Isaac Agyei Mensah has admonished government to be more transparent in issues regarding how road constructions are been carried out during this difficult time.
According to him, for the past 6 years government has failed to pay contractors to enable them carry out their work. He is it is the reason why numerous roads have been abandoned by the contractors.
Adding that, now that we have created additional 6 regions to the existing 10, making 16 regions in the country, the President must show genuine commitment by being transparent to the people.
He disclosed that government should let the people know the developmental plan for their region.
With issues regarding the 2023 budget, he has described it as a budget that had no solutions for the current economic challenges facing us.
He explained that government’s intention to increase VAT by 2.5% will worsen everything since the country is already facing economic hardship, and is likely to create more Unemployment.
