A/R: We’ve regretted and disappointed in NPP- Aggrieved party members
Some aggrieved members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region belonging to a coalition called: NPP Identifiable Groups, consisting of other sub-groups have disclosed that, they are really disappointed in the party and regretted campaigning and supporting the party.
The groups have therefore threatened to demonstrate against the party at their National Delegates Conference slated on December 18-20, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
They disclosed that, the Akuffo Addo’s administration had been a hell to them adding that they are really suffering despite campaigning and working for the party since 2016 till date, gaining two consecutive victories for the party i.e the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
The coalition, including the Elephant Movement, Elephant Soldiers, NPP Vibrant Group, Bantama NPP Florida Fun Group, NPP vibrant groups, Florida fun club-Bantama, among others, said, their own NPP government has refused to employ them into the various government institutions.
“They promised us employment but have failed to fulfill their promise”.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, December15, 2021, one of the leaders, Mr Emmanuel Ampiah Mensah, said they have channelled their grievances to the necessary authorities but to no avail.
Mr. Ampiah, on behalf of the groups, has given the leadership of the party a three-day ultimatum to adhere to their grievances and offer jobs else……they’re going to carry out their demonstration on the aforementioned date, i.e Saturday.
“Not even a cleaning work has been given to any of our members not to talk of a juicy contract. A lot of our colleagues are jobless meanwhile we’ve done a lot for the party.
We are expecting something meaningful because we too deserve better as party faithfuls”, Mr. Mensah worriedly revealed to Akwadaa Nyame of SilverFM adding that, “I want the regional executives to meet us and heed to our problems”.
He stressed that, their children are suffering because they lack jobs.
“Today is Wednesday, if by Friday, we didn’t hear anything fruitful from them….we’ll pursue our action”.
