NPP’s Hajia Fati commissions mechanised borehole for St. Hubert Serminary School
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), national headquarters Hajia Fati Amadu Popularly known as Alege Mama has commissioned a mechanised borehole with overhead tanks for St.Hubert Serminary School in Kumasi to providing potable water for the students and teachers.
The borehole, estimated at Gh¢ 50,000.00, is to held resolve the water scarcity problem the School faces.
At a short ceremony to commission the project, Mr Steven Okyere who is the special aid to Hajia Fati Adamu, said they are planning to construct more boreholes across the country especially deprived schools and communities to make potable water accessible to all.
St.Hubert Serminary School is one of the government senior high schools in the Ashanti Region and has been lacking potable drinking water for so many years.
Mr Okyere in an interview with Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame said it was in response to the appeal by the school authorities made to his boss when they came to her office.
Mr Elvis Osei Dapaah who helped the construction of the project thanked Hajia Amadu for her commitment, hard works and sacrifices in ensuring that the project came to a successful completion.
He said one of the problems Ghana faces as a nation is the unwilling nature to sacrifice or release support for those who is in dire need.
He tasked the students and the school authorities to take good care of the facility and promised to come to their aid whenever it develops any major fault.
He gave the assurance of his readiness to support the School to ensure that both students and teachers are comfortable for effective teaching and learning.
Speaking on behalf of the school, headmaster, Mr Eric Kyei thanked Hajia Fati Amadu and Elvis Osei Dapaah for the kind gesture and asked for more developmental projects for the school.
He said the school lack dormitories and furnitures for the students while lack of teachers accomodation is affecting the school.
