Our health facilities are available and safe; come for treatment- Dr. Tinkorang entreats Ghanaians
Ghanaians especially residents in the Ashanti Region have been urged to seek medical care in all health facilities in the region when they are sick because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the declaration of December as Covid vaccination month.
Dr. Emmanuel Tinkorang, the Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services, who made the call in a sideline interview with Silver FM’s Akwadaa on Monday, December 6,2021, said there were a total reduction of patients who goes to the various health facilities during the COVID-19 peak time which was attributed to the coronavirus.
Dr Tinkorang said, people with other medical conditions shouldn’t refuse to attend hospitals for proper healthcare.
This, he said, could have a dire consequence on the health of citizens if they continue to stay home because of Corona virus.
Dr. Tinkorang said those who need medical care such as immunization and antenatal care is worrying and stressed that need to put to the wheel to address it.
“Let us all begin to discuss how to address the issue of fear of Corona virus in the hospitals and improve access to services in our health facilities because covid 19 can be contacted in anywhere if we don’t get vaccinated and adhere to the protocols” Dr Tinkorang appealed.
He also bemoaned the blatant disregard for the safety protocols in public places, thereby cautioning that the fight against the virus is not over.
