Market women call for fuel reduction over higher cost of transporting goods
Market women are calling for reduction of fuel as they suffer transportation of goods from rural communities to urban centers.
They have therefore called on government to as a matter of urgency reduce fuel drastically to alleviate some form of poverty from them.
They said, reduction in fuel will account for decrease in transporting goods from the villages to town which will give relief to the farmers, traders and Ghana as well.
The Suame market women who disclosed this today to filasconews reporter, Kwame Wiredu a.k.a Sanitation Ambassador today, Thursday, November 18,2021, said, a lot of farm produce are rotten in the bush due higher cost of transportation and bad roads.
The worried farmers revealed that, a farmer can sell his/her goods for ¢400 and use almost 2/3 for transportation, driving his/her labour in the bush in vain and zero profit.
