A/R: Our Challenge Is Lack Of Power To Execute – NADMO Coordinator Cries

Speaking on Omanbapa Morning Show on Silver FM in Kumasi hosted by Nana Kwabena Ampratwum today, Mrs. Margaret Owusu, the Deputy National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Ashanti Region lamented over lack of power for her outfit to execute.

Monitoring the show on Tuesday by Filasconews.com, the NADMO Deputy Coordinator revealed that, they identifies the situations but they lack the Authority to execute what is expected to be done to saving the situation.

She opined that, all the flooded areas in the Ashanti Region have been discovered but the prevention is the problem.

Citing human activities as the cause of major flooding in the Region, Madam Owusu unearthed that, people have blocked waterways, causing unnecessary flooding and affecting the people.

Adding sadly that, the organisation wishes to pull structures in such areas but they lack the power to do so.

She’s therefore entreating on Ghana’s Parliament to be in a hurry to passing the law that would enable NADMO the Authority to execute for effective task and prevention of flooding in the country especially in the Ashanti Region.
