Residents of Kobreso Electoral Area Cry over lack of Development

The Assembly member for Kobreso electoral area in the Offinso north district in the Ashanti region, Alfred Wiafe , is calling on all stakeholders to come to the aid of some communities in the area.

Among the list of problems facing those communities, the ones that require urgent attention were disclosed by the Assembly member.

In an interview, Hon. Alfred Wiafe lamented on the absence of public place of convenience in Asuoso community, which has resulted in open defecation, and thereby causing unhygienic conditions in the area.

Another source of worry is the stretch of road along Asuoso highway to Kumasi where the rains have eroded a portion of the shoulder of the road, which is gradually caving in, and inching closer to the main road.

In Kobreso R/C JHS, the old block is in a dilapidated state, some parts of the roof are ripped off, and the concrete floor broken up with holes; creating discomfort for the school children.

A situation which requires thorough renovation.

Though he admitted that some assistance had come as a boon from the DCE, much needs to be done to completely solve the problem.

Some parts of Kobreso are not on the national grid, and there is the need to extend electricity to the area, in fulfilment of promise during the campaign period.

Another community that caught attention was Mantukwa, the community through their own initiative contributed to construct a three unit classroom block, but the floor is still not covered with concrete and are therefore appealing to the DCE for cement, gravels, and also doors to make the structure complete and conducive for learning.

On potable water, the entire Mantukwa community rely on a stream, the only borehole that was dug by the MP for the area does not produce water, one has to pump all day to get some few drops.

They therefore plead with the Honorable member of parliament to fix the borehole which has been more of a bane than a boon.

Teachers flat in the area is not properly wired, causing power fluctuations and sometimes power outages.
He pleaded with all the authorities to treat their plight with the urgency that it deserve
