It has been revealed that eight married women are serving death sentences in the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons.
According to the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons Chaplain, Chief Superintendent of Prisons Martin Padi, the women were imprisoned for crimes they committed against their spouses.
On Saturday, when this portal visited the prisons, he revealed the information.
Despite the fact that he did not specify the offenses they committed, the Chaplain stated that they were sentenced not for theft or robbing, but for injuring the very men with whom they said “I do” on the altar.
He also reported that the Nsawam Prisons housed around 3,450 inmates, including individuals who were declared condemned, convicts, and those on remand.
