Thanks for given us a Minister who won’t be like the other one – Togbe Afede applauds Mahama
Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, has expressed his excitement about the nomination of James Gunu as the Volta Regional Minister Designate.
He thanks President John Dramani Mahama for his nomination of James Gunu. He made these remarks during the President’s visit to the Volta Region as part of his Thank You tour.
As part of his Thank You Tour following his victory in the 2024 presidential elections, President John Dramani Mahama visited the Volta Region, where he was warmly received at a durbar at the Jubilee Park in Ho.
Togbe Afede XIV took the opportunity to commend President Mahama for appointing a capable Volta Regional Minister, contrasting the new appointee with his predecessor, Dr. Archibald Letsa, who served under the Akufo-Addo administration.
According to Togbe Afede, even before the appointment of James Gunu, he demonstrated his commitment to working with the people of the Volta Region, emphasizing that he is the right person to represent the President in the Volta Region which happens to be the stronghold of the National Democratic Congress.
He expressed optimism in the ability of James Gunu to work diligently to deliver prosperity to the people of the Volta Region, adding that he appears to do better than the immediate past Volta Regional Minister.
“I just want to thank you for giving us someone who promises to be a very good Regional Minister, who even before you gave this mandate, has demonstrated a willingness to work with the people and for the interest of the people. We know he will not be like the one we just had,” Togbe Afede noted.
