Independence Square: All set for J&J historic swearing-in
All is set for the swearing-in of President-elect, John Dramani Mahama and his Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang at the Independence Square in Accra, after their resounding victory at the polls in December 2024.
It will be a historic moment for the two- John Mahama making a grand return to the presidency after his first full term in office from 2012 to 2016, and for Naana Jane, being the first woman in Ghana’s history to occupy that office.
For Mahama in particular, his comeback is significant not only for its rarity but also for what it represents: a testament to the resilience of Ghana’s democracy.
