The cause of the fire that killed MP and his two children
The police have issued on audio statement on the deaths of Minister in the Ministry of Education Lisa Morris-Julian and her two children in a fire early Monday morning.
In the statement, police reported Northern Division police supported by Norther Division fire officers are investigating a devastating house fire that tragically claimed the lives of a member of Parliament (for D’Abadie/O’Meara) Lisa Morris-Julian, her two children age 25 and 6 at the family home this morning. Police said fire and police personnel responded to a report of fire are Farfan Street, Arima around 6.15 a.m.
“The fire had also left her husband and two other relatives who were present in the home at the time of the incident injured. The injured individuals were transported to the hospital where are receiving medical treatment for their injuries. At this time their condition remains under assessment,” the police stated.
The police reported that fire prevention officers are working to determine the probable cause of the blaze “which resulted in significant destruction to the dwelling house.”
